My son has written four letters since he left for basic training ten days ago. He has always loved to write, so it doesn't surprise me. I'll probably get a letter every couple of days, whereas I think I got two letters total from the oldest one.
He's safe and he's happy and he (so far) loves the Army. I've also had a phone call, and I asked him, "Do you like it?" He said he did. I asked, "Do you love it?" His answer: "Most definitely."
So, he's doing something that he loves. What more can you ask?

Fabulous news
do you mean letters like on PAPER letters? Been a long long time since I've gotten one of those ...
We are all so proud of him. Those words spoken by him must have wonderful to hear. God bless. Happy first day of work today!
It means everything to know they are happy. My son is in Iraq right now,and although he likes the marine corps he does not like it over there..so glad your son is happy with his decision..God bless.
I don't think you can ask for anything more Terri. I think it's wonderful he's doing something he loves.
Phew, that's GREAT news!! I'm so glad. I'm proud of him and that he is representing my country.
Yippee in Graduating! And double Yippee on letters from your son. I know how special those are to you! Many blessings.
Ms. Terri, did you ask him about the physical demands? I remember boot camp being very physical, and this was NAVY boot camp. But that was a long time ago. Maybe they've eased up on kids since my time at boot camp and are allowing them more "ressio." You should be honored that your children are choosing the military, I salute them, and you.
I'm glad to hear he is doing well and loves what he is doing. Those letters from him must be very precious to you.
HI Terri- So glad your son loves the Army- what an eventful year you have had!
