Summer Picnic and an Apron Giveaway

I have a job! Well, actually, I've had the job for some time now - I signed a contract with a local anesthesia group way back when I started school, so I've had a job all along. But now I'm eight weeks or so from actually starting that job, so when the group invited us to their summer picnic, I thought we ought to go and say hello.

Here is the front yard of the picnic host:

Isn't it lovely? The weather was perfect, and I'd show more of the property but I really don't know the couple very well and don't want to invade their privacy without permission. Suffice it to say that the remainder of the property was equally lovely.

Here are Ron (my husband) and Brian (the middle son) enjoying a drink in the shade. We sat under this tree talking for at least an hour - it was so pleasant just to relax!

Sean (the youngest) couldn't sit still, so he took the kayak (and later, a canoe, although I don't have photos of that) out on the pond. I really want a pond, and I think I know the perfect place between Clay Hill and Thistledew to put it. Now, if I can just get everyone else to agree!

It was a good day. Everybody in the group seemed almost as excited for me to start working as I am. I really can't wait! :) Soon, soon!

And, for all that baking I'll have time to do when I'm finished, here is the perfect summer apron being given away at The Apron Goddesses. Isn't it precious? I'm not telling you to enter, though. In fact, all of you could completely ignore this giveaway, if you wanted to!
Oh, okay - be that way! Enter if you must! Good luck!

Hello Terri, what a lovely summer day - you did the perfect event for a sunny day - lay under a tree! Hurray! Doesn't a pond need the sun? Who's going to clean out all the leaves that will fill it annually - it happens every fall - all the leaves "fall" down from the trees and land in beautiful ponds and someone has to get in a wetsuit and clean it out.....I can't not imagine what I would look like in a wet suite, but it isn't a pretty image. Hurray to Summer!

that's wet suit - although the size I'd need could very well look like a suite

I am so happy for you to have a job. In the economy learning of people getting hired is a blessing.

Thank you, everybody, for stopping by. I have a test tomorrow and then one of the big ones on Wednesday, so my presence here will be scarce until I get those done. See you in a few days! :)
